Nicole Farhi's got a point to make

With BAFTA's stars all tucked up in bed at home, Nicole Farhi takes centre stage at the Royal Opera House
Less than 12 hours after BAFTA's stars had shipped out of Covent Garden's Royal Opera House, taking their golden statues and well-dressed entourages with them, Nicole Farhi moved into place this morning, showing her autumn/winter collection to a rather bedraggled fashion set (yes, it's still raining).
The show was a covetable mix of antique rose-print dresses, tactile macramé pieces, pointy-toed patent boots and gorgeous cashmere and camel-hair coats, inspired, in part, by Frank Gehry's architecture, but perfectly poised to create the ideal city-slicker wardrobe.
Bright bolts of red - an emerging colour trend for the season - punctuated a calm sea of black, camel and nude, while metallic lame and sequins ensured evening pieces really sparkled.
Nicole might not have dressed any of the previous evening's stars for their red-carpet appearance, but we like to think there's more than a few pieces shown here that could pep up Kate or Carey's downtime dressing.
