Nadia Aboulhosn's styling tricks for plus size women ‘I show off my midriff, which is my slimmest part. A loose crop top keeps the focus on the waist, instead of the stomach.’
‘Plus-size clothes can sometimes be shapeless, so get everything taken in, depending on where you carry your weight. I usually get dresses shortened and trousers taken in at the ankle.’
‘Curvy women always get told to wear belts to draw attention to the waist, but I prefer wearing high-waisted pencil skirts and trousers.’
‘Cropped trousers are really flattering if they stop above the ankle, worn with a heel.’

Fash fans of all shapes and sizes (as well as legions of men) visit her blog, Nadiaaboulhosn.com, every day to marvel at her cool posts, showing her in everything from gladiator sandals laced up to the thigh to bodycon dresses and crop tops.
‘Everyone’s problem is they think so negatively about themselves, whereas I think positive – I don’t like my arms, so I show off my legs instead.’
With the opening of stores like a new Marina Rinaldi flagship atelier in a three-storey Georgian townhouse in London’s Mayfair, featuring luxury collections in sizes 14-28, and Evans’ involvement in London Fashion Week, plus-size fashion pickings are not the style-free zone they used to be.
Florida-born Nadia now lives in New York and has modelled for magazines, as well as having her own collaboration in the works. ‘People come to my site for inspiration, to feel like they can pull off whatever they want, whatever their size. One girl wrote me a comment saying her whole family line is anorexic and, after seeing my blog, it was the first time she’d really “lived”. I cried when I read it.’
