Do you remember these most popular Zara items ever?
Zara, bankrupting us all since 1998.
Zara, bankrupting us all since 1998.
Only Zara addicts will truly understand that feeling of finding that one special shoe, bag or dress you know is going to be a hit. And the absolute tragedy that ensues if - god forbid - it sells out before you can buy it.
So we thought it was about time we took a stroll down memory lane to look back at some of Zara’s most popular items.
Whether you owned them or simply lusted after them, you’ll no doubt recognise them.
Buffalo leather plaited shopper bag, winter 2012
This bag was virtually everywhere in 2012, not least on the arm of Olivia Palermo. It came in several colours including tan and navy, but we loved the classic black.
Mini skort, summer 2012
Was it a skirt? Were they shorts? No one really knew, but everyone loved this so much it was re-issued for an extra season. We had it in blue.
Basic colour block sandals, summer 2012
2012 was definitely a strong year for Zara, as it saw these heels sell out too. The blogger fave was no doubt the pink and red one.

Ballerina with jewel, winter 2012
These ballerinas were the go-to if you couldn’t afford the Valentino ones, which meant they naturally sold out. Thought they were available in black, we loved the gold version.
Neon box clutch bag, summer 2013
Remember when neon was literally everywhere in 2013? Although this clutch bag was available in eye popping orange and pink, yellow was the real winner. We still have ours in the hope neon will make another comeback. You never know.
Coat with studded sleeves, winter 2013
You couldn’t get the tube without seeing at least two girls wearing this, which made it all the more awkward when you were wearing yours too. It also came in khaki, but navy was the way to go.
Light blue zip coat, summer 2014
The perfect summer coat.
Off-the-shoulder top, summer 2016
Pretty much the top that started the off-the-shoulder trend, you couldn’t swing a tote bag in the street without hitting at least three girls wearing it last summer.
Printed coat, summer 2016
The coat that was so popular, it even had its own Instagram account.
Zara slider sandals, summer 2016
Who could predict the rise of the humble pool slide? This metallic style was a sell-out.
Trousers with side band, summer/autumn 2016
Yet another sell-out item we’ve Olivia Palermo to blame for. She wore these to fashion week and they instantly became THE trousers to be seen in.
