A day in the life of a Mercedes driver at London Fashion Week
Ever wondered what it's like behind the scenes at Fashion Week?
Ever wondered what it's like behind the scenes at Fashion Week?
London Fashion Week has been and gone in a flurry of glorious shows and mad dashes. Because make not mistake, behind the glamour, it can be a bit hectic (in a fun day obvs). So in case you were wondering what it's really like during the shows, we grilled our Mercedes-Benz driver about what a busy day at Fashion Week looks like, from morning coffee to bedtime.
8AM It’s the third day of London Fashion Week. I’m outside Trish’s (Halpin, Marie Claire's editor-in-chief) house ready to take her to the first show, but first we film a video of Trish getting into her car for social media. On route to the first show we pick up Jayne (Pickering, Marie Claire's fashion director), they chat fashion in the back of the car.
9AM I’ve just dropped Trish and Jayne off at the Mary Katrantzou show, now I have some downtime to get a coffee and read the paper.
9:45AM We’re on the way to our next show – the London traffic isn’t going to stop us getting to the Anya Hindmarch show on time.
1:30PM we’ve had a very busy morning, and we’ve been all around London and now we’re on to the Versus show – it sounds like it’s going to be a very exciting show!
4PM it’s a mad dash to the Topshop show, but we make it just on time. It’s crazy outside the show space with photographers catching all the details of all the fabulous outfits.

4:45PM Trish and Jayne are back in the car and gushing about the Topshop show. We’re straight on to the next one.
8PM I’ve dropped off Trish at the Armani party – her last stop of the day. Now it’s time to go home and relax before we repeat again tomorrow!
With special thanks to Mercedes-Benz for driving us to the shows at London Fashion Week in style, as always.
