Awards season has officially kicked off with the first major awards show of the year, The Golden Globes. The 2017 ceremony was held in the famous Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. The Golden Globes 2017 red carpet was, as ever, an incredible display of show-stopping gowns.
Jimmy Fallon hosted the 74th Golden Globes Awards, taking over from Ricky Gervais who presented in 2016. Leonardo DiCaprio, Anna Kendrick, Kristen Wiig and Sienna Miller were amongst this year's Golden Globes presenters. Leo has previously won Globes for his roles in The Revenant, The Aviator and The Wolf of Wall Street - and let's not forget Sylvester Stallone’s daughters who helped out at the awards and handed out the gongs to the winners.
But what about the action on the Golden Globes red carpet? There were an equal amount of monochrome looks as there were pops of bright colour with pink in all shades proving the most popular tone of the night. The highlights of the red carpet were Michelle Williams in an off-the-shoulder Louis Vuitton confection, Emma Stone in stunning Valentino and Kerry Washington in a golden Dolce & Gabbana gown. Blake Lively was another of the night's attendees and looked positively show-stopping in Atelier Versace, whilst Ruth Negga looked divine in a glamorous Louis Vuitton gown.
Meanwhile, Evan Rachel Wood evoked the enduring of spirit of Le Smoking and stepped out in a sharply tailored tuxedo.
And how many bumps can you spot on the red carpet? Natalie Portman was amongst many of the pregnant celebrities showing how to nail pregnancy style on the red carpet in a bright canary yellow Prada gown with Tiffany & Co earrings. Gal Gadot, who is expecting her second child early this year, looked absolutely radiant in a sequin dress meanwhile.
Claire Foy, the winner of Best Actress in a drama series for The Crown, represented British designers and wore a blush pink Erdem gown which sparkled on the red carpet.

Not to be outdone though, the gents were also sharply dressed for the event. Eddie Redmayne looked dapper in a doubled breasted tuxedo with wide lapels, whilst Ryan Reynolds wore a traditional tux and Best Actor winner Ryan Gosling wore a white suit jacket which made him stand out from the crowd for all the right reasons
