Action Aid unveils shirt to mark 2009's PoverTee Day
Leading UK charity Action Aid has unveiled a T-shirt to mark this year’s PoverTee Day on 26 June 2009.
Designed by celeb favourite Maria Grachvogel, the black and white T-shirt is available for £10 on the PovertyDay website. All profits will go directly to ActionAid. ActionAid will be encouraging people all over the UK to wear a t-shirt and donate £2 to the charity’s vital work with those living in poverty.
Taking inspiration from the prints used in her forthcoming Autumn/Winter ‘09 collection, Maria has re-created her distinctive rose print design to create the must have t-shirt for the season and an investment piece to treasure.
Maria said: 'I am honoured to be asked to create a PoverTee Day t-shirt to support Action Aid’s work fighting global poverty and injustice. ActionAid is an outstanding organisation that makes a real difference to the world.'
Established in 1994, the Maria Grachvogel label is a secret of many of the world’s most stylish women including Angelina Jolie, Scarlett Johansson and Yasmin Le Bon. Action Aid is a charity dedicated to attacking the effects of poverty worldwide.
