Behold the key styles for your winter wardrobe...
When it comes to shopping for plus-size fashion, there’s now more choice than ever and the Autumn/Winter 16 collection from Evans is one to covet. We asked Marie Claire’s resident curve columnist, Callie Thorpe, to pick five key styles that’ll take you into 2017 in style.
From new-season heroes to refreshed, everyday staples, Evans has everything you need to ensure you’re right on trend. Shop Callie’s favourite finds, here…
’Velvet is the fabric of the season. Luxurious and decadent, this skirt is a must have. The gorgeous ruby colour with the gold detail zip is incredibly flattering to any shape. Wear with a leather jacket and some killer boots for the perfect winter outfit,’ suggests Callie.
Oversized outerwear is in, and a cape is an ideal way to work this trend into your wardrobe. ’For a relaxed day time look, layer on top of dresses, jeans and jumpers. To make the cape really stand out, wear it with clashing colours. Or, for a more minimal, classic look, opt for stylish separates in co-ordinating colours,’ she says.
The 90s revival is hot and what a better way to wear the trend than with this cool and comfortable dungaree dress. ’It might seem difficult to pull off, but trust me when I say that dungarees can be dressed up or down and can truly suit all occasions,’ Callie assures. For a low-key look, wear on top of a simple T-shirt with your favourite trainers. For a refined look, a crisp white shirt can take this 90s trend to office sophistication.
The Ruffle Detail Black Dress, £30
Ruffles were everywhere this summer and the trend is continuing through to this Autumn/Winter. ’Although this dress has a subtle frill, you can still make this the focal point of your outfit by wearing against clean lines,’ she explains. A long-line duster and ankle boots would really finish this look and remember, let your ruffles do the talking.
Get wild this winter with the animal print trend. ’This faux fur number is a bold choice, but, hey, boldness favours the brave. This coat would work best paired with clashing prints and to add some extra sass to the outfit, rock a bold red lip,’ says Callie.
