Geri Halliwell
Okay, so it might not strictly be a Best Dressed moment per se, but Geri Halliwell and her iconic Union Jack dress fly straight to the top of our gallery, purely for making such a dramatic, long-lasting impact. And of course, we mean 'dress' in the loosest sense of the term. Geri's 'outfit' was actually a tea-towel stitched to a top, which her sister made for her. Pure genius. (1997)
Geri Halliwell

Cat Deeley
It was all white on the night for queen of Brit Awards styling Cat Deeley, who rocked an teeny embellished mini dress to the Brits in 2004. Not only were we very jealous of her perfect pins and beautiful blow-dry, we heart her sizzling style. (2004)
Beyonce
Thandie Newton
Back in 2006 and it was Thandie Newton who won style points for this uber-elegant maxi. We're not even entirely sure what the actress was doing at the Brit Awards, but no matter. If it weren't for her, it would have been a pretty poor year, stylishly speaking. (2006)
Katherine Jenkins
Classical songstress Katherine Jenkins raised the fashion bar high when she came over all Jessica Rabbit on the Brit Awards red carpet. Her form-fitting floor-length scarlett seqinned gown - complete with thigh-high split - might be more BAFTAs than Brits, but we still love it. (2006)
Sophie Ellis Bextor
Side-stepping the trap that upsets so many a celebrity at the annual Brits was Sophie Ellis Bextor. Instead of choosing an attention-grabbing, look-at-me frock, the songstress opted for an understated classic corset dress, and blew all the try-hard competition out of the water. Not the most high-octane of gowns, granted, but it just goes to show that sometimes less is definitely more. (2007)
Lily Allen
Looking at this, it makes us realise quite how far Lily Allen has come in the past three years. Remember when she was all frou-frou prom dresses, chunky jewellery and trainers? Well, not long after the release of her first album, Lily glammed it up a bit and swapped her sneakers for stilettos on the Brits red carpet. Like Geri, this is a look that wins a spot in our round-up for its impact, rather than its fashion credentials. (2007)
Natasha Bedingfield
Natasha Bedingfield chose a slinky silk cocktail frock to rock her red carpet appearance ? seemingly her spell in the States has done wonders for her fashion sense. (2007)
Alexa Chung
Back in 2008, Alexa Chung keeps things casual in a simple LBD and cardigan. It's not going to turn heads but it gets our nod of approval. (2008)
Kylie Minogue
Kylie Minogue made her millionth Brit Awards appearance in style, rocking the red carpet in a fierce sequinned mini dress and some serious diamonds. (2008)
Rihanna
She doesn't always get it right, but pop princess Rihanna traded in her usual funky look for a polished metallic silver Dolce and Gabbana mini dress at the Brits in 2008. And we must say, we approve. (2008)
Cheryl Cole
Ah, Cheryl Cole. 2008 was the year that CC joined the X Factor panel, and made the transition from just being one-fifth of Girls Aloud, to becoming a famous face in her own right. The popstrel brought a summery splash of yellow to an otherwise wintery red carpet in her cute one-shoulder mini, and put on a big brave smile in the midst of those ghastly Ashley-cheating rumours. (2008)
Nicola Roberts
But come 2009, and it was a different Girl Aloud that caught our sartorial eye. Last year saw the band take away their first ever Brit Award, but it was Nicola Roberts that also won the prize for being the most stylishly dressed member. We fell in love with her romantic J Mendel mermaid dress the second we clapped eyes on it. (2009)
Little Boots
Flying the flag last year for both British music and British fashion was Little Boots. The new electro-pop singer had us suitably impressed on the red carpet in her graphic-print Alexander McQueen frock, making her instantly spring to the top of any one-to-watch lists. (2009)
Kylie Minogue
Kylie Minogue had something of a yin-and-yang moment with herself at last year's Brit Awards, stepping out in not one, but two gorgeous gowns. (Well, actually, as co-host of the evening's proceedings, she wore six in total, but these two were our favourites.) The pint-sized popstar first walked the red carpet in this sequinned black Chanel column gown, but then later on took to the stage in an angelic asymmetric Jean Paul Gaultier creation. (2009)
Alexa Chung
Best-dressed list fave Alexa Chung didn't disappoint, and brought her signature brand of contemporary cool to the red carpet with a blue sequinned vintage dress and Chanel quilted clutch. (2009)
Taylor Swift
2009 was a great year for the Brit Awards in terms of fashion hits. Girl-of-the-moment Taylor Swift was in attendance to represent the Stateside music scene, and did so in true style - showing off her enviable pins in a glittering silver Kaufman Franco mini. (2009)
Kylie Minogue
The evening's presenter Kylie Minogue ensured all eyes were on her in a series of scene-stealing styles - including a sparkling floor-length sequinned number. (2009)
Lily Allen
Since Lily Allen retired from this business we call show, not only are we without one of our top singer-songwriters, but the Brit Award red carpets have been suffering a gaping style gap. Who else could make this PVC Chanel gown look quite so darn good? We miss you, Lily. (2010)
Florence Welch
Year after year, Florence Welch consistently adds some much needed class to an otherwise usually unfashionable awards do. This Zuhair Murad number is like medicine for our style-starved eyes. (2010)
Cat Deeley
Back on British soil, Cat Deeley flashed those picture-perfect pins in a glittering minidress. Getting all the extras just right, she accessorised with zip-front sandals, an elegant box clutch and tumbling locks. (2010)
Eliza Doolittle
Ok, so the borderline-too-short white mini dress is only so-so, but Eliza Doolittle earns her place in our Brit Awards best dressed hall of fame purely for the sheer length of her pins. Un-Be-Lievable. (2011)
Cheryl Cole
Cheryl Cole wowed us all in this shimmering sheer-sleeved gown by Stella McCartney, proving just why she's become the nation's sweetheart. (2011)

Rihanna
Rihanna's been hitting one high note after another with her past few appearances on the red carpet, and her sexy plunge-neck Givenchy dress with thigh slit and fierce leather gloves is easily the evening's best look. (2012)
Florence Welch
British starlet Florence Welch rocked the red carpet in one of our favourite looks of the night - a blush Alexander McQueen long-sleeved gown. To finish? A pair of killer McQueen wedges. Love. (2012)
Lana Del Rey
Not only did Lana Del Rey bag the Best International Newcomer award at 2012's ceremony, the Video Games singer wowed in a red hot Vivienne Westwood dress. (2012)
Adele
Recipient of not one, but two Brit Awards, Adele impressed on arrival in a floor-length black Burberry gown. A pair of statement earrings and a dazzling diamond ring (on her engagement finger, no less) completed her red carpet look. (2012)
Nicole Scherzinger
Ex-Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger tapped Versace's spring collection for her Brit Awards entrance, stepping out in a colourful curve-enhancing dress from the fashion house's S/S 2012 collection. (2012)
Kylie Minogue
Pint-sized pop princess Kylie Minogue added an injection of colour into Brit Awards proceedings in a cobalt blue Yves Saint Laurent satin dress. Nicely done. (2012)
Abigail Clancy
Television personality and WAG Abigail Clancy showed off her never-ending pins in a short pink dress and leg-lengthening nude heels. (2012)
THE WORST BRIT AWARDS DRESSES OF ALL TIME!
Berenice Marlohe
Berenice Marlohe made the most of her impeccable curves in a clingy metallic dress. The dress gave her a killer cleavage and showed off her incredible hourglass figure. We like a lady that knows how to work it. (2013)
Rita Ora
Rita Ora was still the new(ish) girl on the block at the 2013 Brit Awards. Donning her signature bright blonde waves, dark eyes and red lippy, the songstress opted for a satin peach dress that fell open at the back we love. (2013)
Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift looked utterly chic and elegant at the 2013 Brit Awards, opting for a very sleek and simple black evenig gown. It was all in the details for Taylor, who cinched in her waist with a gold belt and showed off her inviable legs with a killer dress split. (2013)
