Here's everything you need to know...

Season two of The Crown feels like it was a lifetime ago, with fans of the show eagerly awaiting its third season.

But while people are getting excited for season three, they are also mourning the loss of its stars from the episodes ahead, with the characters recast to older actors to reflect the passing of time – something that is set to happen every two seasons.

But what will The Crown look like without Claire Foy, Matt Smith and Vanessa Kirby at the helm?

Well, according to the latest sneak peek of season three, very different.

Olivia Coleman was the first actress confirmed for season 3, coming onboard as Queen Elizabeth and Helena Bonham Carter and Game of Thrones actor Tobias Menzies have been cast as Princess Margaret and Prince Philip.

Josh O'Connor will be playing Prince Charles, Emerald Fennel has been hired as the young Camilla Parker-Bowles, and Emma Corrin has been selected to play Princess Diana, a role that Netflix openly advertised for.

While the a completely new cast seems a bit too different to be a continuation, the latest TV show stills released by the network are getting us very excited.
