It turns out we've known who Jon Snow's father is the whole time
We can't believe it's taken this long for the penny to drop

We've been wildly speculating for years, but in an infographic released by HBO, Jon Snow's parentage has finally been confirmed. Officially. It's all there. In black and white.
The diagram, posted by HBO yesterday, shows the many (complicated) relationships of the show's key players, including the one BIG Game of Thrones question that's been on our minds from day one.
LOOK AWAY NOW IF YOU DON'T WANT TO RUIN IT FOR YOURSELVES.
I know it's tempting, but you might regret it.
Seriously. You've been warned.

So, we already knew that Lyanna Stark (Ned's sister) is Jon's mother, as was revealed last week in a flashback to his birth. Until then, we'd been going around thinking that Jon was the son of Ned, after an extra-marital affair way back when - or so we had been lead to believe.
But on this recently released family tree, Jon's father is shown as Rhaegar Targaryen, which means he is in fact nephew of both Ned (RIP) and Daenerys, Queen of Dragons. Did you get all that?
But what's hilarious is Sean Bean may well have dropped this bombshell a year ago without us even realising it had happened. Somebody asked the actor on Reddit why it is that Jon Snow 'knows nothing' because of Ned's lack of teaching. His response? 'HAHAHAHAH! Because he's not mine!'.
Has Sean Bean known who Jon's father is this entire time? Or was he just being flippant and kidding with us? Have we ACTUALLY had the answers to one of Game of Thrones' biggest mysteries for ages?
So. Many. Questions.
This massive revelation makes us all the more intrigued about what the remaining two seasons have in store for us. The battle for the Iron Throne is surely going to be more complicated than ever now, as Jon is the sole surviving child of the man who was first in line. And Daenerys is surely going to have something to say about the fact she's not truly the last of her house.
The anticipation for Season 7 is too much already...
