Rumours are already flying around about *another* live-action Disney movie
Roald Dahl classic James and the Giant Peach could be getting the silver screen treatment again...
Exciting new: Aladdin could be getting the silver screen treatment in a live-action remake...
We have some massive news to get excited about if you’re a fan of Disney films (and seriously, who isn’t?).
Aladdin is rumoured to be getting a Disney live-action remake – and Guy Ritchie may be at the helm. This new reboot is going to be 'an ambitious and non-traditional take’ on the original Oscar-winning 1992 film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Following in the footsteps of the success of its recent stage production Aladdin the Musical, Disney is now hoping to get Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels directory Guy Ritchie on board to give the story his signature high-octane action.

We’re very lucky that we’ve been spoilt rotten recently when it comes to live action Disney remakes. Over the last few years, we’ve seen live action adaptations of Maleficent, Cinderella, Tarzan and The Jungle Book.
What’s more, several more live-action Disney gems are in the works, including Beauty and the Beast starring Emma Watson, Cruella starring Emma Stone and The Little Mermaid with Lin-Manuel Miranda. Most recently, it was also announced that the Lion King would also be getting the live action treatment as the trend for inventing our our favourite childhood classics gathers momentum.

Last month would have seen Roald Dahl's 100th birthday, so it makes sense that the latest live action remake that is rumoured to be happening is based on one of his most popular stories.
But what is the book in question that Disney are looking to adapt, you ask? Well it's none other than James and the Giant Peach, the last live-action version of which came out twenty years ago (we feel old).

It’s rumoured that Sam Mendes, who directed American Beauty and the latest two Bond films, and Nick Hornby - author of About A Boy and Fever Pitch - are both currently in talks with Disney about making a live-action remake of Roald Dahl’s classic tale, according to Entertainment Weekly. And we really hope this is true, because the idea of another Disney adaptation has got us so excited already!
Previous adaptations of Roald Dahl’s work have been nothing short of amazing: The Witches seriously gave us all the creeps when we were younger, and as for Matilda, she was the hero every little girl needed, if you ask us. And, of course, most recently we were gifted with a glorious remake of The BFG. So, you know, we’re pretty confident that this one’s going to be golden, too.
Watch this space for more news about this one. We’re on the edge of our seats already...
