And we are so excited

With the huge success of Cinderella, The Jungle Book and Beauty and the Beast, there seems to be quite a few Disney live action remake films in the making, all boasting an exciting cast of A-list stars.

Emma Stone is tipped to play Cruella De Vil in 2018’s Cruella, Emily Blunt has already started filming for Mary Poppins Returns, and now Beyoncé has been confirmed to star in the live action remake of The Lion King.

Beyoncé is joining the already star-studded cast to play the role of Nala - yes, we can't wait either.

The live action remake, set for release in 2019, is sure to be a box office hit, with Donald Glover already cast as the role of Simba, Chiwetel Ejiofor playing the part of Scar, and Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner coming onboard as Pumbaa and Timon. Even John Oliver has joined the project, playing Zazu.

Jon Favreau, the director behind the remake of The Jungle Book, is already on board. To make it extra special, James Earl Jones, the voice of Mufasa in the original 1994 Disney film, will be reprising his role.

Basically, if the casting is anything to go by, this film is going to be epic.

Rumours of Bey playing the iconic role have been circling for months but the singer is said to have spent a lot of time considering the role and how much time it would take away from her family, having just given birth to twins earlier this year.

Bring on 2019.
