7 Places To Go Star Spotting At The Cannes Festival 2013
With the Cannes Festival 2013 in full swing, Hollywood has decamped to the French Rivera for a magical fortnight of films, fun and impossible glamour. Everyone who's anyone is in attendance, with huge name stars (this year Carey Mulligan, Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Lawrence led the line-up) descending on the chic French city to soak up the atmosphere.
But where do the A-lists actually hang out when they get there? We headed over to the Côte to track them down...
1. The Majestic Barriere Hotel One of Cannes' most famous hotels, the Majestic sits in the heart of the Croisette, directly overlooking the festival's famous red carpet - and all the action. Impossibly glam, it's choc-full of film execs and celebs, who favour its sprawling suites and discrete, seamless service. The sumptuous sofas in the buzzing lobby are the perfect place to spot a star; we spied Karl Lagerfeld, Dita Von Teese and Zoe Saldana from our vantage point, while Jennifer Lawrence attracted hoards of snappers when she attended the Weinstein bash downstairs.
2. The Croisette tents and pop ups While the stars skip the Croisette itself, a host of chic pop up bars roll into town at film festival time each year - a place for the stars to kick off their heels and let their hair down. This year, the Nikki Beach, an off-shoot of the famous Ibiza beach club, is the stars' watering hole of choice, while the tipple is a glass of Piper-Heidsieck champagne.
3. Hotel Du Cap-Eden-Rock The oldest hotel in town, the Eden Rock is out of the way, but well worth as trip - you're sure to spot a Hollywood star or two. This year the guest list reads like a who's who of Hollywood, with Carey Mulligan and Marcus Mumford, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, and Leonardo DiCaprio all in attendance. Plus, model Laura Bailey has been tweeting stunning pics from the pool. Sip a coffee in the lush gardens or watch the world go by in the lobby.
4. The red carpet It may sound an obvious choice, but you can get closer to the Cannes red carpet than at any other film festival in the world. It sits right on the bustling Croisette, and with two star-studded screenings to get through each night, it's the perfect place to spot Hollywood's biggest names. We spied Carey Mulligan, Nicole Kidman, Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel, looking gorgeous, of course.
5. Restaurant B.O., Five Hotel and Spa This year, the Five Hotel and Spa - AKA the hottest new boutique in Cannes - plays host to the exclusive B.O. VIP restaurant. Hidden high on the roof down a quiet Cannes street, film execs and stars nibble on choice cuisine and enjoy the sunshine away from the bustle of the Croisette. Definitely worth a visit.

6. The marina Hoards of the biggest yachts you'll ever see crowd into Cannes' tiny marina at film festival time, as venues to meet, work, and of course, party. Plus, there's a helicopter pad close to hand. We spotted Cara Delevingne exiting Roberto Cavalli's over-the-top sea toy, while Leonardo DiCaprio was here the day before. Jealous.
7. The Baoli Restaurant, lounge and notorious nightspot, Cannes' eponymous Baoli is the perfect place to spot the stars letting their hair down after dark. Jay-Z, Eva Mendes and Bono have all frequented the exclusive Croisette club in the past, while this year it played host to Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and the official Hunger Games: Catching Fire party.
