As the face of Yardley Perfumes, Tigerlily Taylor is bringing a traditional brand to a whole new audience...
Tigerlily Taylor is rock royalty, as the daughter of Roger Taylor and model, Debbie Leng, but there is so much more to her than being another celebrity offspring. As well as being a key FROWer, Tigerlily is a model, writer and now she is the new face of Yardley Perfume, repacking the traditional British brand for a new millennial audience. We caught up with Tigerlily to talk beauty essentials and much more…
Marie Claire: Talk us through your five go-to beauty essentials you would take to a desert island?
Tigerlily Taylor: Coconut oil, Sand and Sky pink clay face mask, Clarins Daily Energiser Tinted Lip Balm, more coconut oil and of course my Poppy Diamond Yardley fragrance.
MC: What drew you to working with Yardley?
TT: I liked the idea of being involved in the revival and modernisation of a classically British brand. There are so many different personalities to British culture that range from the austere stiff upper lip to punk rock… I think The Collection mirrors this transition by shaking up what was once a sort of granny-ish scent and bringing it into the modern by giving it a dose of attitude. And of course I jumped at the chance to work with Rankin.
MC: As the face of a fragrance brand what scents are you drawn to?

TT: I love the Poppy Diamond scent from the Yardley Collection because I am a big fan of vanilla and this scent has definite notes of vanilla. I also love Lily… not just because of my name, and this scent also features lily of the valley.
MC: How would you describe your ultimate go-to beauty look?
TT: Minimal… I like a nice tan, dewy glowing skin and a subtle tinted lip balm. I think the best beauty tip is to live by a beach and get in the sun and sea everyday!
MC: What’s the best piece of beauty advice you have ever received?
TT: Drink lots of water and find a form of exercise that you love.
MC: Who is your beauty icon?
TT: Audrey Hepburn and Jane Fonda. I love Audrey’s simple elegance and Jane’s sex appeal. There are so many!
MC: What would you never try beauty wise?
TT: Any kind of cosmetic surgery in my twenties or thirties.
MC: How has having a model mother informed your approach to beauty?
TT: My mother is a pretty dynamic, hands on person so has never been overly fussy about beauty tips. She has always stressed that natural is best and has taught me a lot about herbal remedies.
