Modern Family star Sarah Hyland is no stranger to success. For years, the actress has used her notoriety to speak out on issues close to heart. She’s gotten super real about body image and donned rainbow gear to support Pride. Basically, we all idolise Sarah Hyland.
It’s not surprising to us that she looks up to someone too: her father, Edward James Hyland, who has been acting for decades. While fans speculate that Sarah could be making a huge career change herself, her father is definitely taking on a new role — one on a big stage.
Hyland recently learned that her dad is joining Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway, and she is PUMPED!
Just look at those heart eye emojis! Her Modern Family co-stars are hoping to get in on the action as well.

According to Teen Vogue, it’s not yet clear what role Edward James Hyland will play in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. However, additional Broadway roles have been announced on Playbill. Seven actors from the original West End cast will be included. Of those are Jamie Parker and Noma Dumezweni, who played Harry and Hermoine!
The crew can’t wait either. In an interview with Deadline, Cursed Child director John Tiffany confirmed that the show is going to be exceptional.
'We have assembled an extraordinary cast for Broadway. Our Cursed Child family is growing with 28 brilliant new actors bringing their unique talents to our production.'
The play is set to open at New York City’s Lyric Theatre on April 22nd, 2018 with tickets going on sale October 12th of this year. We can’t wait!
