Everyone knows that Serena Williams and Meghan Markle are tight, and have been pals for a while now. So it comes as no surprise that when Serena suffered a loss at the U.S. Open Final (after some lengthy mid-game drama rama), she reached out to The Duchess of Sussex.
In an interview with The Sunday Project, Serena discussed their friendship and revealed the pair had texted soon after her recent tennis match.
“We have known each other for a long time, but we really kind of are relying on each other right a lot recently,”she explained.
“We were actually just texting each other this morning," she said in an interview taped three days after her match.
Meghan and Serena first hit it off when they met at a Superbowl party in 2010, and have been firm friends ever since. Serena recently supported Meghan's latest project, Together, Our Community Cookbook - on her Instagram.
