Toronto International Film Festival (affectionately known as TIFF) is known for being one of the most prestigious events in the cinematic calendar, but it's also a hotspot for the very best celebrity fashion too.
We're always excited for Toronto International Film Festival – not only for the premieres of some of the year's most hotly anticipated films, but also for the pre-screening red carpet action.
From beautifully crafted gowns to short-but-sweet numbers, this year's celebrity attendants didn't disappoint in the style stakes. And despite the dresses coming in all shapes and sizes, there was one trend that emerged: red.
Yes, this year we were seeing red as scarlet appeared to be the colour of choice, with actresses wearing red in all its various shades, from Scarlett Johansson's frilly mini dress to Uzo Aduba's glamorous floor length gown.
Also appearing on the red carpet were some of our favourite double acts, including classic on-screen power couple Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, as well as Amy Adams and Tom Ford. Attending the premiere of the designer’s new film, Nocturnal Animals, Amy and her co-star, Ellie Bamber, both wore Tom Ford creations to show their support.
Another fashion favourite for the festival so far has been Elie Saab, who’s gorgeous gowns have been adding a touch of drama to the red carpet. Take a look at Shailene Woodley’s stunning green beaded dress at the Snowden premiere or The Magnificent Seven star Fan Bingbing’s sumptuous silk-skirted velvet gown if you want an example.
Meanwhile, Natalie Portman and Olivia Wilde gave us a lesson in perfect pregnancy style with their red carpet looks. Olivia’s flowing black Greta Constantine gown made for perfect pregnancy glamour, while Natalie’s short white floral print Chanel dress looked casually polished for the end of the summer sunshine at the premiere of Planetarium.
