And everyone gets it.

Meghan Markle has only been a Duchess for three months, but she has already endured more drama than most royals will face in a lifetime. And unfortunately for the Duchess of Sussex, it all surrounds one side of her family - the Markles.

That’s right. The Markles as a whole have created a lot of drama around the now Duchess of Sussex, from estranged nephew Tyler Dooley naming his cannabis business after her to estranged half sister Samantha Grant rumoured to be appearing on Celebrity Big Brother. And let’s not forget about her father, Thomas Markle, and his repeated involvement with the press.

From TV appearances to staged photographs, the Markles never seem to miss an opportunity to shut down the 37-year-old royal, even involving Prince Harry, the Queen and most recently, Princess Diana, in their rants.

The royal family has kept relatively silent amid the Markle drama, but after Thomas Markle recently divulged details of a heated phone call with Prince Harry to the Mail on Sunday, recalling how he hung up on the 33-year-old prince, it seem that enough is enough.

‘The Palace, who normally takes a firm policy of not commenting on personal matters, is now considering a more aggressive strategy to deal with the situation with both her father and her sister,’ a source close to the royals reportedly told Entertainment Tonight. ‘No one wants to see this continue.’

The source continued: ‘She has gone through periods of difficulty with her father in the past, but she does love him. That’s what’s been so difficult about this.’

The royals better act fast though, with increasing numbers of the Markle family speaking out against the Duchess.

Even the former Suits actress’ half-brother Thomas Markle Jr. spoke up this week, with the 52-year-old making it clear that he is on their father’s side.

‘Throughout our lives, dad always put Meg first, above me and my sister, but if what he is saying is true it appears she is abusing his love for her’, Markle Jr. reportedly explained in a recent interview with The Mirror. ’It’s selfish, cruel even. He gave her everything and now she is giving him nothing but hurt back.’

He continued: ‘They say blood is thicker than water, but perhaps the blue blood of the royals now runs through Meg’s veins. It’s heartbreaking to see how this has changed her and the devastation it has caused to my family. Anyone who saw Meg when she was growing up knew her and my dad were inseparable. Now it looks as though they may never speak again.’

Yikes.
