Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed their first child together this week, announcing on their Sussex Royal Instagram page that the royal baby had officially arrived and that it was a boy.
‘We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019. Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs. 3oz,’ the couple announced.
Meghan chose not to pose for photos immediately after birth, like Kate Middleton and Princess Diana before her, with Prince Harry instead coming outside to make an on-camera statement, announcing that they would be appearing together today.
Sure enough, the Duke and Duchess stepped out at midday today to introduce their new baby son to the world, giving everyone a first glimpse at Baby Sussex.
Prince Harry held his newborn, as the couple smiled for the cameras and told the gathered media, ‘We’re just so thrilled to have our own little bundle of joy’.
‘It’s been a special couple of days,’ Meghan Markle continued. ‘He has the sweetest temperament’.
