Donald Trump has just made climate change a whole lot scarier
And it’s incredibly depressing.

And it’s incredibly depressing.
The president has famously rubbished global warming as a Chinese hoax, with one of the most famous Donald Trump quotes being his claims that global warming ‘was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive’.
Following Trump’s inauguration, the world feared that a Trump presidency would pose a threat to the progress being made in climate change, and for good reason.
Trump made it clear from day one of his presidency that his thoughts on climate change hadn’t altered, removing all mention of it from the official White House website just days after his inauguration, and appointing a climate change sceptic as the new Head of the Environmental Protection Agency. To add insult to injury, the newly appointed head, Scott Pruitt, has actually sued the Environmental Protection Agency…14 times.
I knew that bad news was coming, and sure enough Trump signed an executive order just yesterday, rolling back U.S. climate change policies, put in place by Obama.
Surrounded by executives and miners, Trump signed the Energy Independence executive order, promising to invalidate all of Obama’s global warming work and pledging to restore America’s coal industry.
Despite the fact that he has actually managed to come through on one of his promises, it’s a great shame that it’s the one that will permanently damage our climate. It looks like we need to get ready for air pollution and a lot of methane.
