Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to wed this weekend at St George’s Chapel, in Windsor Castle - but with all eyes on the former Suits actress, Meghan has been through more than most in the run-up.
From her father, Thomas Markle, announcing that he would no longer be attending the nuptials, to her half-sister cashing in on the publicity, it’s been a hard month.
However it was good news for the 36-year-old bride to be this morning, as it was announced that her ex-husband has cancelled his plans to create a TV show about her.
It was announced last year that Meghan Markle’s ex husband was producing a project that sounded eerily similar to real life - a divorce comedy about a British prince.
TV producer Trevor Engelson — who divorced Meghan in August 2011 after almost 2 years of marriage — is developing a comedy about a married couple that breaks up, resulting in the woman starting to date a British prince, Deadline reported at the time.
The pitch, according to Deadline, read: ‘Divorce is hard. Sharing custody is harder. Sharing custody with the British Royal family when your wife marries a prince, in the unforgiving spotlight of London’s tabloid media, is next level.’

The script reportedly got the green light, and Engelson went into business alongside Modern Family executive producer Danny Zuker, New Girl producer Jake Kasdan, and The Shannara Chronicles producer Dan Farah to develop a pilot episode for Fox.
Now however, it has been announced that Engelson’s project has been put on hold after Meghan and her Hollywood friends reportedly asked him not to move forward with the show.
Whether Engelson will continue with his project after the royal wedding is yet to be seen, but at least that’s one thing off Meghan’s mind for now.
