It looks like we'll be seeing a lot less of Meghan Markle
And we get it.
And we get it.
Meghan Markle’s past year has undoubtedly been busier than most - it’s hardly surprising therefore that she’s taking a couple of months off.
Joining the royal family and becoming Duchess of Sussex would be enough. But she has also had her royal wedding, turbulent family life with the Markles and a rumoured feud with Kate Middleton to deal with. Not to mention all of her royal duties, with the Duchess quickly becoming one of the most hard working royals in the family.
In short - she’s been very busy.
Those around her must be relieved therefore that Meghan is now taking a step back, with her maternity leave reportedly starting this week.
Meghan, who is expecting her first child with Prince Harry in April, is entitled to a six month break, with sister-in-law Kate Middleton paving the way before her, but it is unlikely that she will take the entire six months.
Kate returned to royal duties just two months after having Princess Charlotte, and attended official events just six weeks after giving birth to Prince George. The Duchess took a longer maternity leave with Prince Louis, but still she came out of leave to attend the Queen’s birthday and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding.
