Meghan Markle’s family has 'been banned' from appearing on UK reality shows
And everyone just breathed a huge sigh of relief.
And everyone just breathed a huge sigh of relief.
Meghan Markle has not had an easy ride since becoming a Duchess, and unfortunately for the former actress, it all seems to surround one side of her family – the Markles.
Her father, Thomas Markle, claims to have been shunned by the Windsors due to his repetitive interactions and staged photographs with the press, even appearing on Good Morning Britain where he divulged a little too much about his daughter.
But if only Thomas Markle was Meghan’s biggest worry.
From writing books about her to naming Cannabis businesses after her, the Markles certainly seem to be ‘cashing in’ on Meghan's royal status - something they have admitted.
But it was taken a step further recently, when certain members of the Markle family started getting tipped for TV shows and appearances.
It was reported that Meghan’s estranged nephew, Tyler Dooley, had landed himself an MTV show for the royal connection, but it was Meghan’s half-sister Samantha Grant who was tipped to appear on TV in the UK.

Reports emerged last week that the 53-year-old would be appearing on Celebrity Big Brother, with rumours that she could be earning a six figure sum for appearing on the Channel 5 show.
‘I would tell you, but then I would have to kill you,’ she stated when asked if she would be appearing on the reality show. ‘So… I don’t want to find myself in locks and stocks, quite frankly.’
Then came the rumours surrounding Markle family members appearing on Strictly Come Dancing, I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! and Dancing on Ice - and everyone started to panic.
It looks like we can all breathe a sigh of relief however, as it was announced today that none of the Markles would be appearing on ITV or BBC shows, with the network bosses reportedly not wanting to give a voice to people so vocally anti royal.
‘The BBC do not want to host someone on Strictly who would be so anti the Royal Family,’ a source reportedly told The Mirror. ‘And ITV’s top brass feel they would not give a voice to these people.’
Well that’s that then. We bet the royal family are crossing their fingers that Channel 5 follows suit.
