Wait, did Liam Payne and Cheryl just get married?
‘I left my wife and child at home’
‘I left my wife and child at home’
Liam Payne has set the internet alight this week after an accidental slip up during a radio interview suggested that he and Cheryl had got married in secret.
There have long been marriage rumours surrounding the notoriously private couple who welcomed their first child, Bear Grey, just two months ago, with Liam revealing his son's middle name just this week. Unsurprisingly Liam's latest comments have added fuel to the fire.
The slip up occurred during an interview with American radio station, SiriusXM, when the 23-year-old was talking about his love of In-N-Out Burger, a US-based fast food chain, even asked whether it was a key factor behind him uprooting his life to LA.
Liam joked back, ‘Yeah, exactly. I left my wife and child at home and I was straight out to In-N-Out Burger’, before adding ‘I’m just kidding.’
Liam’s slip up has divided the internet, with fans unsure as to whether he was ‘kidding’ about Cheryl being his wife or about his In-N-Out Burger obsession.
As a result, some have started to speculate that the couple has tied the knot in secret, whilst others insist that Liam is simply using an affectionate term for his partner.

The couple announced the birth of their son almost two months ago, with both Liam and Cheryl posting the news to their Instagram feeds on Mother’s Day.
‘My close friends and family know there are very few times when I'm left speechless... wow!’ Liam posted to his feed, going on to gush about Cheryl and her baby. ‘I'm incredibly happy to welcome our new baby boy into the world, it's a moment that I will never forget for the rest of my life and my favourite memory I have so far.’
He continued: ‘I'm completely in awe of his incredible mother and how she has been the whole way through this, she's really made my dreams come true. We haven't named him yet but he's already capturing hearts including mine. I feel very blessed.’
Cheryl also took to her social media to announce the news. ‘On Wednesday 22nd March Liam and I became parents to an incredibly beautiful, healthy baby boy, weighing 7lb 9 and looking like a dream,’ she posted. ‘Although he still doesn't have a name he is already stealing hearts. We are all madly in love and overwhelmingly happy with our little arrival. Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers around the world. A day that now has a different meaning to me forever.’
Whether they’re married or not, we’re still very happy for them and little Bear Grey.
