Leonardo DiCaprio is in Edinburgh and the world is freaking out
He's just being so damn casual.
He's just being so damn casual.
Leonardo DiCaprio in Edinburgh may not seem like a likely news headline but it's his first time ever in Scotland and he's trending in some pretty lol memes right now.
The Oscar-winner is up north to give a speech at the Scottish Business Awards at the EICC tonight and during his time in the city, he also dined with a lucky competition winner at Home on Queensferry Street, a restaurant initiative for the homeless. (The not-for-profit venture opened back in September and provides a four-year paid course for homeless people.)
Edinburgh local, Elise Lovell, 45, donated money to buy meals for homeless people at the restaurant and won the chance to dine at the French/Scottish cuisine restaurant with the actor. It's reported she bought eight tickets (well, it was for a great cause) and described Leo as 'absolutely charming.' But, just what do you discuss with an A-lister over a lamb tagine lunch? Martin Scorsese, Leo's environmental work and Donald Trump, apparently.
Excited onlookers and waiters at the restaurant observed the star and described him as 'so nice' and 'down to earth.' Leo follows in fellow philanthropist/actor George Clooney's footsteps, who met with Social Bite (the initiative that helps the homeless community) last year.
And, with a photo of Leo in front of the number 47 bus to Granton, Twitter has gone crazy with memes and posts like this: 'Imagine just sitting on the 104 on the way to work and Leonardo DiCaprio hops on with this £1.60 bus fare.' and 'Leo arrives in Edinburgh and immediately catches the 47. 'I've heard great things about the Anchor Inn.'
Seriously, what would you do if Leo just casually got on your bus? It might be a joke for now but we really hope he does make use of our transport systems while he's here. It is the environmentally-friendly option after all, Leo...
