Katy Perry just opened up about her fall-out with Taylor Swift

‘Can we take the beef off the grill?’
Despite starting off as close friends, there has been ‘bad blood’ between Taylor Swift and Katy Perry for a few years now, with two songs and a string of passive aggressive tweets to show for it.
The two are said to have fallen out back in 2012 when three of the back up dancers on Taylor Swift’s Red album tour left early to join Katy Perry’s Prism album tour, having worked with her before.
While neither of the pop stars have spoken directly about the fallout, Taylor Swift’s number one hit Bad Blood is said to be about Katy Perry, and Katy’s recent release Swish Swish is thought to be about Taylor.
Katy Perry went on Carpool Karaoke this week and set the record straight.
While taking part in the segment on The Late Late Show with James Corden, the host brought up the fallout and asked to hear the 32-year-old singer’s side.
‘Now I want to talk to you about some famous beef, because there’s Taylor beef’, James announced. ‘There’s no denying it, there’s Taylor beef.’

‘For sure, and that’s true, there’s a situation’, Katy explained, ‘Honestly, she started it and it’s time for her to finish it.’
Katy then went on to explain her side of the story: ‘It’s about backing dancers. It’s so crazy. There are three backing dancers that went on tour with her tour, right? And they asked me before they went on tour if they could go, and I was like “Yeah, of course, I’m not on a record cycle. Get the work, and she’s great and all that, but I will be on a record cycle probably in about a year so be sure to put a 30 day contingency in your contract, so you can get out if you want to join me when I say I’m going back on.”’
She continued: ‘So that year came up, and I texted all of them because I’m very close with them and I said “look, just FYI I’m about to start, I just want to put the word out there” and they said “OK, we’re going to go and talk to management about it,” and they did and they got fired.’
‘I tried to talk to her about it and she wouldn’t speak to me,’ explained Katy. ‘It was a full on shut down and then she writes a song about me, and I’m like “OK cool that’s how you want to deal with it, Karma.” But, what I want to say is that I’m ready for that B.S. to be done. Now, there is the law of cause and effect. If you do something there is going to be a reaction, and trust me Daddy there is going to be a reaction.’
‘But I think what you’re saying now is that we can draw a line under this beef,’ said James. ‘Can we draw a line on the beef? Can we take the beef off the grill?’
‘I think personally, that women together, not divided, and like none of this petty shit, women together will heal the world,’ Katy replied, and when James asked if it would be enough to receive a text from Taylor saying ‘the beef is off the grill’, Katy replied ‘Absolutely. 100%’.
