Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle have fallen victim to the rumour mill this year.
The two millennial Duchesses, both 37, have endured an endless stream of online bullying since becoming royals, particularly around the continuous speculation of a feud between the two women, something that according to sources has been blown way out of proportion.
It has since emerged that the royal feud actually had more to do with Prince William and Harry, rather than their wives, but according to royal expert Katie Nicholl, there is still tension between the two Duchesses, something they are keen to iron out.
‘I do think there is some truth to there having been some tension — not just between the duchesses but between the dukes as well,’ Nicholl explained to Glamour. ‘As we all know, things can gather momentum pretty quickly. So while I think there’s been tension, I don’t believe there has been some feud.’
She continued: ‘I do know that Meghan and Kate have come to an agreement to get along, to make an effort, to be amiable and warm toward each other in public. They both realise it’s in neither of their interests to have these catfight headlines. It’s not what either of them want.’
Last month, the two royal women shared a sweet public hug at Commonwealth Day, something that sources have explained wasn’t spontaneous, with Kate reportedly knowing that the cameras would be watching, wanting to send a positive message to the world before Meghan’s maternity leave.

‘They might not have a huge amount in common, but Kate has no issue with Meghan,’ a source told Vanity Fair. ‘She wants them to get along, not just for Harry’s sake but because two royal sisters-in-law at loggerheads wouldn’t be good, and Kate knows that. For Kate, it’s about keeping their relationship professional and putting on a show of togetherness.’
Well, thank goodness for that.
