Len Wiseman has reportedly filed for divorce from Kate Beckinsale, citing 'irreconcilable differences'
It's been confirmed that Len Wiseman has filed from divorce from Kate Beckinsale, with court records in Los Angeles indicating that he has cited 'irreconcilable differences'. A source has told People that the couple 'have both had complicated schedules and have grown apart'.
The pair have been married for just over 12 years, but it's thought that they quietly separated back in November 2015, after Kate was spotted out and about without her wedding ring. It has been reported that neither party is seeking spousal support, indicating that a pre-nup may be in place, according to TMZ online.
The two met and fell in love on the set of the movie Underworld back in 2003 and, despite the rumours, both maintain that there was no infidelity. At the time, Kate Beckinsale had been in a long-term relationship with actor Michael Sheen (with whom she has a 17-year-old daughter, Lily), while Len Wiseman was married.
The pair then decided to separate from their respective partners, and were married in May 2004 a year later in Bel-Air, California, with Kate sporting one of the most amazing celebrity engagement rings we've ever seen.
Throughout their relationship, they have proved themselves to be one of the most loved-up Hollywood couples on the red carpet, and have provided us with almost endless cute moments out and about. Whether they were holding hands in public or sporting truly excellent Halloween costumes, we always thought they were one of the sweetest couples around.
Kate has recently starred in the fifth instalment of the Underworld franchise, Underworld: Blood Wars, with Len assisting with the film's writing and production. The film is due out in February next year.
