Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan broke the hearts of Step Up fans last year when they announced their split, after nearly nine years of marriage.
‘We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple. We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together. Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now,’ the former couple announced in a statement. ‘There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision – just two best-friends realizing it’s time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible.’
The statement continued: ‘We are still a family and will always be loving dedicated parents to Everly’.
Since the separation, the two A-listers have remained amicable, never missing an opportunity to praise the other, and insisting that they remain ‘best friends’, with both seeming to move onto new relationships.
But despite the niceties, the split is very much on, with TMZ revealing that the former couple officially filed for divorce with joint custody in October.
This week it was reported by a source close to Jenna that the couple were in custody talks over their five-year-old daughter, Everly, and apparently the conversations have become ‘challenging and emotional’.
