Jake Gyllenhaal doesn’t want to talk about Taylor Swift
Or the song ‘We Are Never Getting Back Together'
Or the song ‘We Are Never Getting Back Together'
He has starred in films from Jarhead to Nocturnal Animals, even getting nominated for an Academy Award for his role in Brokeback Mountain, but still when it comes to interviews, Jake gets asked questions about his fleeting 2011 romance with Taylor Swift instead.
The couple got together in 2011 and broke up soon after, with Taylor’s number one hit ‘We Are Never Getting Back Together’ supposedly inspired by the 36-year-old actor.
‘I’m not necessarily guarded, but I consider intimacy to be very important’, Jake explained to The Guardian while promoting Life, his new sci-fi/ horror film set on the International Space station. ‘I don’t think everybody needs to know about my family or my personal details. I’m old school in that way.’
The Guardian’s Tim Jonze was quick to point out, however, that Taylor Swift uses her partners as material in her songs and that dating her could have been playing with fire for someone so private.
‘I think when you’re in a relationship, you are constantly scrutinised, your friends are scrutinised’ he said trailing off, before apparently shrugging and shutting the interviewer down, stating ‘I would love to not talk about my personal life. I would love to talk about the movie.
‘There are some things I keep to myself, that are my business.’
