The Day I Learned To Shake My Booty Like Beyoncé

Beyoncé is a true idol. A superhuman goddess. I'm definitely sure of that after attending a Beyoncé dance class.
After only four hours sleep on Saturday morning following a big Friday night out, I dragged myself out of bed to the YMCA in London's West End to learn the dance to Beyoncé's hit Countdown (in my opinion, her best song). Possibly due to the grogginess, I felt a bit of trepidation. Let's just say I'm not the most co-ordinated person in the world.
However, I shouldn't have worried. As we filed into the activity space, which, as my mate who I was with rightly pointed out, looked exactly like the set of a JLS music video, instructor and professional dancer Bonnie Parsons from Seen on Screen fitness told us it was all about 'having fun'. 'Don't get worried if you struggle with some of the moves', she said. 'It even takes a while for professional dancers to get to grips with a move. And, if in doubt - get Sasha out!'
Seen on Screen has been running classes for a couple of years. Bonnie, who worked as a professional dancer for artists such as Olly Murs and on the XFactor, and was leading the class in a pair of sky-high fierce boots, tells me there was a spike in demand after January, as well as following Beyoncé's incredible performance at this year's Superbowl. The aim of the classes are to be fun and exciting - you can burn up to a staggering 400 calories per class but it's way more appealing than being in the gym pounding a treadmill by yourself. As well as the Beyoncé classes they run a series of Britney, Rihanna and bang-on-trend 90's workshops.
