George and Amal Clooney welcomed twins back in June, with the 39-year-old human rights lawyer and the 56-year-old actor becoming parents for the first time.
In a statement announcing the twins’ arrival, their spokesperson Stan Rosenfield stated: ‘This morning Amal and George welcomed Ella and Alexander Clooney into their lives. Ella, Alexander and Amal are all healthy, happy and doing fine. George is sedated and should recover in a few days.’
Just yesterday, three months after the twins’ arrival, the couple made their first public appearance together since becoming parents, taking to the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival to talk parenthood.
New dad George opened up about his three-month-old bundles of joy, explaining to Entertainment Tonight why they opted for the names Ella and Alexander and how their personalities were developing.
'We figured these kids are going to be looked at a lot and watched and [have their] every move sort of judged,' he explained. 'So we looked for some sort of normal names. We didn't have any great inspiration. It wasn't Alexander the Great and Ella Fitzgerald.'
'They start out with a personality right off the bat,' he explained to Entertainment Tonight. '[Alexander] is a thug already... He's a moose! Literally, he just sits and he eats,' George laughed, before going on to talk about his baby daughter Ella.

'She's very elegant, and all eyes,' he gushed. 'She looks like Amal - thank god.'
'None of it is real until all of a sudden they're standing there covered in slime and crying,' he explained. 'You're like, wait a minute, what is that? We were just two and now we're four...Everything changes pretty quickly.'
George previously spoke out about being a father at 56 in an interview with The Associated Press last week, opening up about life with his new bundles of joy and his wife Amal Clooney.
‘Suddenly, you’re responsible for other people, which is terrifying,’ George explained about fatherhood, going on to praise his wife as a new mother. ‘She’s like an Olympic athlete,’ he explained. ‘She’s doing so beautifully.’
He continued: ‘Right now my job is changing diapers and walking them around a little bit. I really didn’t think at 56 that I would be the parent of twins. Don’t make plans. You always have to just enjoy the ride.’
