It was reported yesterday that Demi Lovato had been hospitalised following a suspected drug overdose.
The 25-year-old Tell Me You Love Me singer was reportedly rushed to a Los Angeles hospital from her home in the Hollywood hills where she was found unconscious by paramedics on Tuesday.
Demi, who is currently in the middle of her Tell Me You Love Me tour is now thought to be in stable condition, with reports emerging that she is ‘awake and responsive’ after what was originally reported by TMZ as a heroin overdose, but has since been retracted.
'Demi is awake and with her family, who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support,' read a statement from Demi's reps. 'Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now.'
Celebrity friends have spoken out on social media to send their love and well wishes to the singer who has battled addiction and substance abuse in the past.
‘I love @DDLovato so much. It breaks my heart that she is going through this,’ tweeted Ellen DeGeneres. ‘She is a light in this world, and I am sending my love to her and her family.’
