David Beckham turned 42 today, and unsurprisingly he has already been inundated with birthday messages and well wishes from high profile figures, former team mates and of course his loving family.

In typical Beckham fashion, the whole family has got involved in the birthday messages, with 18-year-old Brooklyn posting a photo of his dad to Instagram, captioning the picture ‘Happy birthday xx love you so much David Beckham’.
Cruz, 12, also got involved on the Insta love, posting a picture of him and his dad, captioned: ‘Dear Dad Happy Birthday. I hope you have an amazing day!! U r the best dad in the [world].’
Romeo, 14, also posted to his feed, uploading a photo of him and his dad sharing a hug. He captioned the snap: ‘Happy birthday to the best and coolest dad ever I hope you have the best day possible!! Love you lots.’
Even the official Manchester United Instagram made a touching tribute, uploading a video of David scoring a goal for the team back in the day, captioning the upload: ‘Birthday boy David Beckham doing what he does best!’ The official England team also followed suit, captioning their video upload ‘A #ThreeLions legend turns 42 today!’

There’s no word yet on how David will be celebrating the day, but we imagine it will be spent with the family, with Victoria Beckham uploading a picture of the birthday boy in front of a chocolate cake, captioned 'Happy Birthday David Beckham! We all love us so much! x #specialday'.
