Cori Gauff’s reaction to Michelle Obama tweeting about her is hilarious
This is lovely.

Wimbledon 2019 week two has begun, with Manic Monday seeing some very big names return to the grass for some world class sport…and Pimms of course.
Come rain or shine (and we’re seriously hoping for the latter) today is not one to be missed, with one tennis player in particular setting the world alight.
This year 15-year-old US player Cori Gauff, World number 313, has been the biggest Wimbledon talking point, surprising everyone with each victory, starting her thrilling run by beating Venus Williams in the first round.
Friday evening saw ‘Coco’ defeat Polona Hercog in the third round of Wimbledon, soaring into the last 16, with only Simona Halep standing in her way of the quarter finals.
‘I don’t know how to explain how I feel,’ she explained after her historic first round match against Venus Williams, seeing her become the youngest player since 1991 to win in the first round of the ladies’ singles.
‘I never thought this would happen. I’m literally living my dream right now.’

And it’s not just the 15-year-old who’s loving every minute, with a host of A-listers behind the player, from Snoop Dogg to Jaden Smith.
The most exciting celebrity shoutout however has to be from former First Lady Michelle Obama, who tweeted out a video of Cori’s last win, along with the caption, ‘Coco is terrific.’
Unsurprisingly, this is apparently Coco’s highlight from the entire competition.
‘I was super excited,’ she told reporters after her last match, having just seen the tweet. ‘She's one of my role models. So it was just cool to see that she knows I exist.’
Reposting Michelle Obama’s message from her own social media channels with the caption, ‘That’s it. I am done.'
‘I think she's doing everything great,’ explained another high profile fan Serena Williams of Coco’s success. ‘Big fan, actually. I am so excited for her. Love her family. Gosh, I just couldn't feel more proud.’
Coco is set to take to Court 1 today to play Simona Halep in the fourth round.
