We’ve all been pronouncing Chrissy Teigen’s name wrong
Wait, what?
Wait, what?
Chrissy Teigen is one of the most talked-about women in the world, never afraid to take a stand or call out what she thinks is wrong, whether that's trolling Donald Trump quotes or standing up to mum-shaming.
It’s strange therefore that we’ve all gone so long pronouncing the 32-year-old model’s name wrong.
Yes, really. Christine Diane Teigen is not pronounced how you’d expect, but it's not her first or middle name that people are getting confused by, it's her surname - Teigen.
Following the revelation that Ariana Grande’s name is actually pronounced ‘Grand-ee’, Chrissy opened up about how her surname is ofter mispronounced too.
‘It’s Tie-gen,’ Chrissy explained to E!’s Giuliana Rancic as she walked the red carpet with her husband John Legend at the 2018 Emmy Awards last night.
What? ‘Tie-gen’, not ‘Tee-gen’ - that’s going to take some getting used to.

Luckily, Chrissy doesn’t expect people to change their habits.
‘Mine is the least of anyone’s worries,’ she explained, before adding ‘Sorry dad!’
'Tie-Gen is the official real Norwegian name,’ John Legend added.
‘I gave up a long time ago,’ Chrissy has previously explained on Twitter. ‘I even correct people when they say it correctly. It’s all very effed up.’
Well that has confused us all.
