It was announced last week that Chris Pratt and Anna Faris are separating, with the couple confirming their divorce after eight years of marriage.
Issuing a joint statement, the actors shared on their social media pages, ‘We are sad to announce we are legally separating. We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed.’
The statement continued: ‘Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward.’
Both Chris and Anna have kept a relatively low profile since the news broke, with the 38-year-old actor making his first public appearance since the split just this week.
Chris took to the stage at the Teen Choice Awards on Sunday to accept the Teen Choice Sci-Fi Movie Actor award for his role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, with fans quick to point out that he wasn't wearing his wedding ring.
‘Wow, thank you! I love you too. Thank you,’ he announced to the crowd after being presented the award by Stranger Things actress Mille Bobby Brown. ‘What an honor and a privilege to be here at the Teen Choice Awards. Thank you, Millie, Maddie, Grace. Give it up for the gals.’

Instead of thanking his family or opening up about his relationship with Anna Faris, Chris kept it light-hearted, sharing an anecdote from his early acting days.
‘When I came to Los Angeles, I came from Hawaii and I had all of this blonde hair and I was tanned,’ he explained. ‘I met an agent because I really wanted to be an actor and get an agent and he said, “Wow. Bro you must surf?” And I said “Yeah” and that was the first of many lies I told to get where I am today. Thank you.’
Chris has yet to speak about his split from Just Friends actress Anna Faris, but the actor has been spotted without his wedding ring in the past week. However, with the couple still living together, some people including their mutual close friend Patti Stranger are hopeful that Chris and Anna will reunite.
