Let’s just take a moment to celebrate the recent renaissance of R-Patz. It’s not just an excuse to publish lots of pictures of him, honest…
1. He is the one to watch in Maps To The Stars
Considering he only has a relatively small part, Robert Pattinson is easily one of the most memorable cast members in David Cronenberg’s stunningly dark satire of Hollywood (also starring Mia Wasikowska). Coincidence? We think not. Plus, don’t miss his totes awks back-of-the-car sex scene with Julianne Moore. Not. Jealous. At. All.
2. He’s smoking hot. No literally.
For his much-talked about autumn movie release The Rover, he travelled out to Australia’s Flinders Ranges to film in searing temperatures and appeared perfectly chilled throughout. ‘If you’re doing something where you’re not playing someone who’s sweaty and disgusting all the time, then it would have been annoying. But when you can wallow in it, it’s nice.’ We hear ya.
3. And while we’re on that – he is making some seriously cool movie choices
First David Cronenberg, then David Michod (The Rover), next up, R-Patz is working with the legendary director Werner Herzog on Queen of the Desert (also starring James Franco and Nicole Kidman) next year. He’s been actively seeking out the filmmakers he wants to work with and even cold-called Harmony Korine to set up a dinner. Smart boy.

4. He’s single and loving it
OK, so he’s far too cool to talk about that in interviews. But we really hope so, because 1) it means we’re still in with a chance and 2) we’re a bit protective over him. Plus we kind of liked his recent oh-so-nonchalant ‘shit happens… it’s just young people’ stance on the whole K-Stew thing. Gone is the awkward Twilight teen, here to stay is Mr Super Chilled.
5. He's a little bit filthy
That appearance on Jimmy Kimmel, anyone? The ‘extraordinarily heavy saliva’, anyone? We’re not sure why he brought it up. But we kind of love that he talked about spit on live TV. And in an 'erotic' way. Yep, our fascination knows no
