The countdown is officially on for the long-awaited release of Fifty Shades Darker, with the second installment of the erotic romance trilogy hitting the cinemas on 10th February.
The newest Fifty Shades will see both Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson return to their roles as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, this time joined by new cast mates: Kim Basinger and Rita Ora. We can’t wait either.
The Internet has been buzzing about the highly anticipated film, especially since the release of the most recent Fifty Shades trailer, showing off the film’s killer soundtrack (we’re talking Sia, John Legend, Taylor Swift and Zayn Malik), and giving us a sneak peek of that racy lift scene.
Jamie Dornan, however, has been quick to explain that he doesn’t share Christian Grey’s bachelor lifestyle and that the ‘playboy’ antics aren’t for him. He has been married to British actress and singer Amelia Warner (AKA Slow Moving Millie) since 2013 and told Marie Claire earlier this year that ‘the idea of being single makes [him] instantly sweat’.
He also opened up about his sex life in a recent interview with GQ, admitting that all the S&M stuff isn’t for him. ‘It was like nothing I'd experienced before. I'd never seen any form of S&M before this,’ he said about filming the sex scenes. ‘I had no interest in that world. It doesn't float my boat.’
He continued: ‘I've always been open-minded and liberal — I'd never judge anyone's sexual preference. Whatever gets people off is entirely up to them and there's a million different ways to please yourself, sexually.’

Filming the sex scenes must have been challenging, especially as it was so far out of his comfort zone, but Jamie credits his bond with his co-star, Dakota Johnson for getting him through it.
‘We’ve gone through this mad journey together’, he explained to Marie Claire. ‘Dakota knows what I’m going through and only I know what she’s going through. We get on very well, we make each other laugh and we’re comfortable with each other, which is very important because Jesus, if I didn’t get on with her... I’ve heard horror stories of that happening. Actors who have to do intimate things with another actor and they just don’t get on… It’s not good.’
February can’t come soon enough.
