Billie Lourd breaks her silence over the tragic passing of her matriarchs
When Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher died during the Christmas holidays, the world mourned a Hollywood star, feminist and icon - but to her daughter Billie Lourd, whose father is talent agent Bryan Lourd, she was so much more. The world was even further saddened when news broke that Carrie Fisher's mother, actress Debbie Reynolds, passed away shortly after.
Scream Queens actress Billie Lourd, 23, has now spoken out about tragic loss of her mother, after she died of an unexpected heart attack on December 27 while on board a plane from London to Los Angeles, and how, heartbreakingly a day later, her grandmother passed away from a stroke, too.
In response, Billie took to Instagram to post this throwback photo, saying: 'Receiving all of your prayers and kind words over the past week has given me strength during a time I thought strength could not exist. There are no words to express how much I will miss my Abadaba and my one and only Momby. Your love and support means the world to me.' The photo has received over 200,000 likes and 12,000 comments already.
Debbie's son, Todd, has confirmed that the two Hollywood stars will be buried together in a joint funeral. He also said that Debbie's last words were 'I want to be with Carrie,' and has spoken out saying, 'My mother and my sister are together right now.'
It's deeply saddening that Billie is having to grieve two family members at the same time, and understandable that the rising star has 'no words' to express how much she will miss them.
Rest in peace Carrie Fisher, who brought us so many brilliant, witty and apt soundbites on being a woman in Hollywood, and rest peacefully, award-winning actress Debbie Reynolds.
