Thanks to Beyoncé we all know that girls run the world, but it now seems they also rule the charts. Or at least, the Knowles sisters do.
When Solange’s latest album, A Seat at the Table, went to no.1 on the Billboard 200 chart the Knowles clan had cause to celebrate – it was the first time she’s ever nabbed the number one spot, selling 72,000 copies in the first week alone to beat Bon Iver’s hotly tipped new album 22, A Million.
In true sisterly spirit Beyoncé was quick to congratulate her little sister, writing on Instagram: 'Congrats to my sister on creating this beautiful work of art. I could not be more proud of you.'
However, it soon ended up being a double celebration for the Knowles clan, as the two sisters became the first female siblings to ever have a No. 1 album in the Billboard charts.
Beyoncé has had six number one albums, including her most recent release Lemonade – an album that has been as successful as it was controversial after everyone began to talk about those lyrics on the headline track hinted to marital problems between Queen Bey and Jay-Z.

Beyoncé and Solange have become the first sisters to both obtain number ones, a feat only matched by two other sibling pairs: Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson and rappers Master P and his brother Silkk the Shocker.
As well as getting support from Beyoncé, Solange’s A Seat at the Table has received praise from both industry insiders and celebrity fans, such as Lena Dunham, Missy Elliott and Calvin Harris.
While there were plenty of big names congratulating Solange on her achievement, people couldn't fail to notice that there was one glaring exception to the well-wishers: Jay Z. Well, it wouldn't be a proper celebration without a little perceived family drama, right?
