Having dry skin is certainly no fun. Scaly, itchy and flaky skin on your body can cause havoc on the feel and look of your body, and can affect your self esteem, too. While body moisturisers often do the job, a body oil feels super luxurious and can deeply nourish in a way lotions sometimes can't. There's nothing better than having a warm shower before bed, then applying the best body oil afterwards onto slightly damp skin to lock in moisture.
The best thing about body oils is the amount of choice there is. There's a body oil for all budgets, from high street buys like the Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula Moisturising Body Oil to high end luxury buys such as Tom Ford's Neroli Portofino Body Oil. Similarly, there's something for all tastes as no matter which fragrances you prefer, there will be a body oil to suit your taste. Love rose? Ren's Moroccan Rose Otto Ultra Moisturising Body Oil is irresistibly floral. A sucker for almond-scented products? L'Occitane's Almond Supple Skin Oil is a divine option.
Body oils are also incredibly versatile. Not only are they the perfect formula for massaging into skin, they're also great for targeting particularly dry or problem areas. Take for example your knees and elbows: two areas that need extra moisture. You can also avoid buying extra products like cuticle oil as your body oil can double up as a great product for hands and nails that need some tender loving care.
If you're a big fan of oil formulas, why not opt for a facial oil, too? There's a face oil for all skin types and needs.
If you find body oils are just not for you, do not forgo moisturising your body. Instead of an oil, pick up a body lotion or velvety rich cream.
