This is how much you’re spending on make-up every year
Money can't buy you happiness, but it can buy you (a lot of) make-up
Money can't buy you happiness, but it can buy you (a lot of) make-up
If you're as big a make-up lover as we are, then no doubt you like to spend a lot of time and money on beauty products.
Whether you spend your Saturday mornings swatching at your local MAC counter or splurging on skincare at Selfridges, you're a self-confessed beauty junkie. But have you ever stopped to wonder how much money all those beauty hauls add up to?
Us neither. But a new study has found out exactly how much all those products, styling tools and treatments are costing us. Brace yourselves, because if you thought how much we spend on our hair in a lifetime was a lot, you'd better take a deep breath.
TotallyMoney.com found that, on average, us Brits will spend £4,454 on beauty per year. It might sound like a lot, but when you're the kind of person who needs the best mascara, the best lipstick and the best foundation in your beauty arsenal – not to mention the best make-up brushes to apply it all with – it's really not that surprising.
But how do the numbers crunch based on where you live? If we hone in a little closer, some cities are spending far more than others on all things beauty.
If you're a Leeds girl, you're spending a whopping £7,000 on beauty per year – that's more than £500 a month. Unsurprisingly, Leeds is closely followed by London, who spend more than £6,300 per year on things like trips to the spa and getting their hair done.

Bringing up the rear is Aberdeen, who still spend a healthy £2,700 per year on beauty, and just ahead of them are Portsmouth and Wolverhampton, both of whom spend £3,000 a year each on cosmetics and such.
Don't know about you, but all this beauty talk is making us want to go shopping...
