Holiday beauty products your suitcase needs this summer
Consider this your go-to holiday shopping list
Consider this your go-to holiday shopping list
Nothing brings us joy quite like a massive beauty haul, but it feels even better to fill up your basket with holiday beauty products.
Stocking up on SPF, after sun and travel minis is the best way to get in the mood for an upcoming summer trip, if you ask us. But what should you take for a holiday abroad in 2018?
We've tested out some of the best of the beauty world's newcomers for the summer holiday season – and trust us when we tell you you're going to want all of these ahead of your next vacay, right between your best sun cream and high-waist bikinis.
There's no excuse to forget to apply your sun cream with La Roche-Posay's new pocket Anthelios. Smaller than half an iPhone, it's ideal for top-ups whether you're having an aperatif on the balcony or taking an outdoor excursion. Plus, it's small enough to take in your hand luggage; here's why you should always wear SPF when you fly.
Don't forget to protect your hair from the sun, too. Hair authority Philip Kingsley has your locks covered with a UV shield that prevents colour fade, but also stops damage caused by chlorine and salt water. We're calling it: it's the summer holiday hair essential.
Hotel hairdryers are notoriously awful, but bringing your own can add precious kgs to your luggage weight. No more: ghd's Flight Travel Hairdryer weighs less than 500g with 80% of the horse power of its full size counterpart. You might be sceptical, but trust us when we say it manages to outperform a lot of the best hair dryers.

If the man in your life is the worst at packing holiday essentials, point them in the direction of Elemis' travel collections. Better yet, buy one on his behalf. Containing everything necessary for a trip from moisturiser to shower gel and shave cream, just throw in a razor and you're good to go.
Together with the Jelly Shampoo, this is a softening duo that repairs and nourishes the hair shaft while being gentle enough to use every day of your trip. The UV filter also offers your hair some much-needed holiday protection. Consider beachy soft hair yours for the taking.
SPF for your face is an essential step, both in terms of protecting your skin from environmental damage and visible signs of ageing. Aesop's facial protection is a game-changing fluid shield, protecting against both UVA and UVB with a matte, non-greasy finish.
Bronze Goddess is pretty much the smell of holidays in a bottle, with top notes of lime and mandarin, middle notes of coconut and a base of vanilla, it's tropical and delicious. This body spray will keep you cool on the beach, or anywhere with scorching temperatures, really.
LRP's hero sun cream now comes in a convenient, teeny-tiny pocket sized pack. The ultra light SPF 50+ fluid protects against UVA and UVB range and is a favourite among sensitive skin sufferers.
Sun protection for hair often gets overlooked, but it shouldn't - so pick up this gem from Philip Kingsley before your travels. They weren't kidding with the shield part; this bad boy protects hair against damage caused by chlorine, salt water and UV, as well as minimising colour fade.
After a day in the sun it's essential you soothe your skin and replenish its moisture. Ultrasun's gentle cream contains no mineral oil or preservatives that'll irritate your skin.
Much like your skin, your hair needs after sun care too. As well as replenishing the moisture (which the sun will have dried out throughout the day), Aveda's mask contains Morikue protein to strengthen the hair and prevent future breakage caused by weakened strands. Plus, it'll make your hair smell tropical and delicious.
Ghd's tiny, fold up dryer feels like it doesn't weigh enough to be very good, but don't let that put you off. Ringing in at just 422g, this unbelievably light tool has 80% of the power of a full size ghd dryer (and in our opinion is 1283% better than a hotel one). If someone told us this was the only hair dryer we could use for the rest of our lives, we'd be happy. A great investment for all future trips.
If you want a fuss-free way of ensuring all your beauty products are in one place, but don't want to compromise on quality, ESPA's Beauty Explorer collection will be right up your street. It's got everything you need from shampoo and conditioner to the brand's best selling cleanser and moisturiser.
