Dark berry lips are officially back

Burgundy, red brick, plum, grape and violet are all go...
Why is it that whenever it's cold, we're immediately drawn to the romantic side of beauty? Popping bright colours no longer catch our eye and instead, we're immediately enticed with deep berry hues and red brick shades of lipstick. Perhaps it has to do with the influence of the Autumn Winter catwalk or maybe it comes down to the fact that outside is dark and so we want to imitate our surroundings.
Either way, one thing is for sure: this romantic look rules the red carpet around this time of year. And the 74th Annual Golden Globes red carpet was proof. Celebrities gathered to celebrate the best in TV and film, but our eyes were firmly focussed on the beauty trends, namely deep berry lipstick. This quiz will match you with the perfect red hue - try it out here!
Kerry Washington sported wine-stained lips, created by make-up artist, Carola Gonzales, who layered Neutrogena’s MoistureSmooth Color Stick in Deep Plum over Dolce & Gabbana’s Glam 355 lipstick.
Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra rocked a dark berry lip, that looked part 90s brown, part cranberry, a shade that looked stunning against her golden skin tone and complimented her champagne coloured eyeshadow, perfectly.
And Chrissy Teigen worked her dark, brick red with deep purple and brown hues of eyeshadow - slicking back her hair into a ponytail, to let her make-up take centre stage.
Here's to embracing your dark side.
