The sun is shining and the heat is rising, which can only mean one thing: it's time to update your make-up bag and start channelling the best of spring/summer 14's beauty trends.
You'll be glad to know this year's biggest trends fit in perfectly with the need for lighter, fresher make-up when the humidity kicks in. Better yet, they are all seriously easy to recreate at home.
Jane Richardson, the International Lead Stylist at NARS summed up this years biggest beauty trends from the catwalk as 'barely there make-up, soft defined eyes, defined brows and hot orange lips,' all of which we have definitely seen recreated on our favourite celebs.
Judging by the red carpet, this year there are two opposite ends of the spectrum to choose from, with barely there, beautifully brozed on one end, and bright oranges, vibrant blues and sophisticated pinks on the other. Plently for you to play with.
But If you only take away one key beauty trend this summer, Jane insists it be this: 'My biggest tip this season is to invest in a brow pencil and gel. Whatever look inspires you, softly fill for a subtle strength, or add a coloured gel on top for a bolder statement and added texture.' Duly noted!

Suki Waterhouse
At the Costume Institute Gala in New York, Suki Waterhouse rocked a classic red lip over a enviously clear complexion. Suki focused on the statement brow trend and ensured they perfectly match her summery caramel hair. To finish, she dusted a gold glitter shadow over her eyes to complement those warm hues.
Cara Delevingne
Once again, Cara let her infamous brows do the talking at the Serpentine Summer Party,
keeping them thick and dark as ever, just adding a lick of liner and coat of mascara to create her look. For super brows like Cara, Jane advises, 'When using a gel [to define the brows] first remove any excess before working through the brows. Make sure to work in an upwards, downwards and sideways motion to allow each hair to fully grab the product.'
Kerry Washington
Orange lips are big news this summer, and beautiful Kerry looked hot-as in the fun loving shade. If you want to try the trend, (and you should!) Jane advises: 'Whether worn in a soft, subtle shade, or as a bold focus point, always strengthen the brows to lift the face and frame the eyes.'
Elle Fanning
Elle worked one of summer's biggest make-up trends - barely there, effortless beauty - to a tee at the Maleficent film premiere in LA, keeping her hair minimal too. Just a coat of champagne shadow over dewy eyes was all she needed to pull this look off.
Jane tells us: 'A big trend coming up for next season is glittery and metallic eyes, so get ahead of the pack and take inspiration from Elle Fanning with a subtle application of glitter paired with radiant skin and a natural lip.'
Christy Turlington
We've never been more jealous of supermodel Christy Turlington's skin, which was subtly bronzed and effortlessly radiant in New York earlier this summer. She let her glowing skin do the talking, merely adding a wood brown shimmer shadow to delicately define her eyes.
Diane Kruger
Diane Kruger certainly has an impressive style file, and her impeccable red carpet make-up looks don't go a miss, either. Using clever tricks of light to highlight her features at The Bridge season two premiere, she gently dotted and blended highlighter to her inner eyes and cupid bow too reflect the light, creating the illusion of bigger, fuller features.
Mary-Kate Oslen
Mary-Kate looked gorgeous at the CDFA Fashion Awards in New York, acing a whole mix of summer beauty trends. Her raw beauty base, teamed with her softly shadowed eyes and bold, brushed up brows makes her a beauty icon to take note of this summer.
Cameron Diaz
We loved Cameron's berry pink lip colour at the The Other Woman premiere in April, which really stood out against her neutral, dewy looking eyes.
Angelina Jolie
A natural beauty, Angelina kept it simple with a barely-there base, and drew attention to her big eyes with blending a shimmery taupe eyeshadow to create a summer smokey eye.
Alessandra Ambrosio
At the CFDA Fashion Awards in New York, Alessandra worked the ultimate summer beauty look: the bronze goddess. She balanced out her head-to-toe tan with a pop of blush on her cheeks, and white liner worn in her inner eyes to make then pop.
Lupita Nyong'o
Not for the faint-hearted, blue eyeshadow was a big trend on the spring/summer catwalks, seen in shows such as Marc Jacobs, Mui Mui and Anna Sui. Lupita went all out with the trend, neatly sweeping a bold blue across her lids at the CDFA Fashion Awards in New York, and totally pulling it off. We applaud.
Taylor Schilling
Orange Is The New Black star Taylor Schilling wowed on the red carpet at the Inaugural Emmy Celebrations at the beginning of June. Her statement lip was just stunning against her light blonde locks, and the sparse use of chunky glitter around her eyes gave them an irresistible sparkle.
Rachel McAdams
We loved Rachel's timeless bouncy waves teamed with her natural complexion, adding just a touch of glamour with a hint of glitter under her eyes and a coat of shimmer lipgloss. When using glitter eyeshadow, Jane advises: 'Use an eyeshadow base such as NARS SmudgeProof Eyeshadow Base to keep the glitter particles in place. Push the shadow over the base and allow it to pick it up. Only blend the very edge to avoid moving the glitter onto your face,'
Olivia Palermo
Eyeliner enthusiasts take note: Olivia pulled off heavy liner (despite it being a classic winter look) at the CFDA Fashion Awards in New York by teaming it with white glitter shadow on her top lids to lift and brighten her eyes. She kept her hair simple and away from her face to balance out the heavy make-up and avoid an 'overdone' look.
Emma Watson
Far from being a Barbie lookalike, Emma looked elegant in all over pink, and proved pale skin tones can pull off this colour, too. If you want to work pink eyeshadow, which is a huge summer beauty trend, opt for a matt shade like Emma to look more sophisticated lady than sparkle princess.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley
At the Cannes Film Festival in France earlier this year, Rosie opted for the naturally bronzed look, as oppose to heavily contoured. Jane observes: 'Radiant, bronzed skin is kept modern with the use of creamier, sheer textures over the skin.' To achieve this look, she advises: 'Consider switching from powder to bronzing illuminators such as NARS Laguna Illuminator. Simple mix into your primer to build depth.'
Naomi Campbell
Naomi kept her base make-up minimal here, to reveal a beautiful natural glow, and kept her bright green eyes as the focal point, enhanced with false lashing. Try this look at home when you want to give your skin a breather, without going all the way with the no make-up make-up trend.
Keira Knightley
Keira has been absolutely killing it recently, and we're just obsessed with her style. Keira nods to the blue shadow trend we've seen this summer, opting for a safer bet with a deep navy shade. We are loving her power brow too, which matches her hair colour perfectly. Gold star Keira!
Karlie Kloss
Karlie Kloss went for softly defined eyes at the CDFA Fashion Awards in June, which made for a morning-after-night-before look - in a good way of course! Give it a go by smudging your eyeshadow underneath you eyes, going slightly lower than you usually would. Stick to lighter shades rather than highly pigmented shadows to pull of this minimal effort look, and keep to a simple singular coat of mascara.
Jennifer Garner
We loved Jennifer's elegant, simple look at the 5th Annual Thirst Gala in LA earlier this summer. If like Jennifer you have pout worthy lips, take inspiration from her neutral peachy-nude lip paint to tone down this stand out feature when working the natural look.
Lara Stone
At the 67th Cannes Film Festival in France, model Lara followed a top catwalk trend and let her natural beauty shine, only softly defining her eyes. Jane observes: 'Skin was truly revealed this season, and at the shows we were seeing more and more focus on barely there make-up.' Christopher Kane, Diane von Furstenberg and Vera Wang all showcased this look at their spring/summer shows.
Emily Blunt
At The Edge Of Tomorrow film premiere in New York, Emily looked gorgeous wearing a carnation pink lip colour. This bright and girly look softens her on-trend bold brows and blunt (ahem) hairstyle to perfection.
Kaley Cuoco
If you're not a fan of the hot orange lipstick trend we've seen this summer - or fear you can't pull it off - go for a hot pink like Kaley instead. Jane Richardson tells us: 'Pink lips are the red carpet alternative to the catwalk oranges.'
Malin Akerman
Malin Akerman's skin looked absolutely flawless at a Tommy Hilfiger launch party in LA. The concealer used under her eyes is a shade lighter than her skin, which helps disguise dark circle, and make her bright blue eyes pop.
Jessica Alba
Working the power brow that has proven itself as a key trend for another summer, bronzed beauty Jessica Alba makes her eyes the focus point of her look at the Women in Film and Television Awards in New York.
Hayden Panettiere
Highlighted to perfection, Hayden looked heavenly radiant at the Costume Institute Gala in New York. To copy Hayden's angelic look, trace a liquid highlighter from under your brows down and around towards the apples of your checks, and blend. Finish with adding a touch to your inner eyes to widen them in an instant.
Georgia May Jagger
Georgia's green eyes leaped out against the matte, lilac-pink eyeshadow she wore to the Delete Blood Cancer Gala in New York. A trend you've got to try this summer.
Eva Longoria
Eva revives a classic beauty look with a smokey eye and nude lip at the AFI's 42nd Life Achievement Award Gala in LA this June, keeping it fresh with an on-trend, sleek side braid.
Shailene Woodley
The Fault In Our Stars actress Shailene Woodley added a pop of colour to her neutral look with a French rose lipstick, and added a touch of highlighter in the middle and just above her lips, to give the illusion of a fuller pout.
Fearne Cotton
If you've got fair skin like Fearne, take note of her subtly tanned cheeks using a coral-peachy bronzer, which sits better on pale complexions than full-on bronze.
Solange Knowles
We loved Solange's natural look at the 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards in New York, with just a pop of a bright, flirty pink lipstick to make her stand out from the crowd when rocking the au natural look.
Kristen Stewart
Whether or not you're a fan of Kristen's latest hairstyle, you have to admit that she aced summer make-up at Paris Couture Fashion Week. Switching her usual heavy black kohl for brown shadow and matching liner was a nice summer touch compared to her usual grungy style.
Jennifer Lopez
Bronzed skin, brown lips, and a ray of blonde hues running through her hair, this look from J-Lo screams summer holiday nights spend on the beach. If you want to pull off this high-rise dusty brown eyeshadow, like Jennifer, take her lead and leave your eyebrows as natural as possible.
Cheryl Cole
This is a surprisingly laid back look for glamourous X Factor judge Cheryl Cole - perfect for a summertime make-under. Exchanging her smokey eye for a dusty pink shimmer shadow and a slick of matching gloss, Cheryl looked natural and glowing.
Jessie J
We're not used to seeing such a dressed down look from singer Jessie J, but she definitely pulled it off. The key to a perfect, radiant base like Jessie's is all in the prep. Jane advises: 'Focus on your skin and work on creating a smooth, radiant surface by exfoliating and hydrating.'
