This new hair dye trend is absolutely succulent
No, really. It's inspired by succulents...
No, really. It's inspired by succulents...
When you want to get your hair dyed, what inspirational platforms do you turn to? Instagram? Pinterest? Old photo albums, perhaps? Whatever it is, it's probably not your house plants. Yet, that's exactly what is inspiring a new trend of hair colour right now, and it's called succulent hair.
Yes, the latest hair dye craze is to take the colours of your indoor plants and apply them to your hair. And it comes as little surprise, really. After all, there's a reason - or several- why we have such a love for succulents. How often is it that you come across a plant that looks as magical as one that has a green base and magenta ends? Or one that contains swirls of deep purple and red? No wonder hair stylists are getting seriously colour inspired...
But, as much as we'd like to say it's simple to get this effect, it's not. For one, you have to find the perfect colours. And sometimes nature produces what we can't. If you are lucky enough to find the perfect colours, you then you need to be able to dye your hair that exact colour. This can mean a lot of time spent bleaching your hair, which can result in breakage if not done properly. Our suggestion? Head to a professional. They can at least help you to go lighter before you DIY your brighter colours.
However, if you don't have time to visit the salon, you should at least brush up on everything you need to know about going blonde. That way, you can ensure your hair is in good condition when you dye it. The idea is succulent hair. Not cactus.
