Follow style sensation Cheryl Cole's transformation over the years
The Girls Aloud glamourpuss is making waves this winter on X Factor's judging panel, proving she's made it as a superstar singer and beauty icon. To jog your memory, we've charted her ever-changing beauty moments here
Young and Innocent
A fresh-faced and ethereal-looking Cheryl attended the 95.8 Capital FM Awards back in early 2005 sporting honey-highlighted shades, cascading in soft waves around her shoulders. The more relaxed look is a million miles away from the vamped-up and immaculately-groomed Cheryl we're used to seeing these days, but it's a gorgeous one nonetheless.
Pop princess
It's not hard to see how Cheryl has rocketed in the popularity stakes since Girls Aloud hit the pop stage; the style icon can dress her look up or down with ease and proved it in this TV appearance, where she was looking absolutely flawless. Her chestnut brown locks and smoky eyes set the tone for her continuing trademark look.

Girls Aloud and proud
And the transformation from pretty pop star to stunning songstress is complete. The rich cocoa hues and the cutesy pig-tails softened Cheryl's features, and ensured that she looked picture perfect for a photo call to launch the Girls Aloud Barbie dolls. With those pearly whites setting off her beautiful smile, the Geordie lass also showcased lustrous lashes and soft peachy cheeks.
Fringe benefits
A poised and polished Cheryl attended the Julien MacDonald show during London Fashion week in 2006. The thick fringe and autumnal make-up shades contrasted perfectly with her olive skin tone.

Trim tresses
Cheryl opted for a sleek, sharp and sultry guise with rich chocolate-coloured tresses at the launch of the new Samsung F210 phone. Her impossibly glossy mane was given a blunter edge, giving her a more sassy style. The singer let her striking hair do the talking by keeping her make-up simple with smoky eyes and nude lips.
Cascading curls
Cheryl Cole may not have worn her wedding ring to the 2008 Brit Awards, but she did wear a huge hot pink smile. This is one of our all-time favourite CC looks ? the subtle caramel highlights, tousled waves and daring lipstick make this an absolute winner.
High note
Cheryl Cole's style and beauty statements have had us glued to the screen since she made her debut as an X Factor judge in 2008. Never one to be fearless with her style statements, Cheryl has proved she's a fan of the towering updo, accessorising this overzised chignon with a sparkling accessory.
Going for the chop
We could scarcely believe our eyes when mid-X Factor 2009, Cheryl suddenly reached for the scissors. Gone were those long luxe extensions, and in place was a choppy shoulder-grazing bob. But of course, we loved it.
Scarlet woman
Tired of her shorter locks, Cheryl underwent a complete hair overhaul for X Factor 2010. The stylista embraced the extensions, swapped her chocolate curls for a warm plum hue, and showcased the new look in an on-trend fishtail plait, to boot.
Elegant updo
A chic and sophisticated Cheryl hit the Pride of Britain Award red carpet earlier this year, pinning her mahogany tresses back into a soft side-parted chignon. Heavily-lined eyes and a deep plum pout completed the luxe look.
