With Coachella this weekend, we find our thoughts drifting towards mud, wellies and teepees. The carefree festival vibe always leaves us more daring than usual so it’s the perfect time to try something with your hair. So whether you need to liven up lank, unwashed tresses or want to try out a new colour, we’ve selected the easiest hair trends to try this spring. Do you dare? Who: Boho Babe Icon: Kate Moss Product: Schwarzkopf Essence ULTÎME Omega Repair BB Balm, £5.49 How: It’s the ultimate festival look, but after days without a hair wash it can be tricky to style. Start by spritzing a bit of dry shampoo on the roots. Then work the BB balm through the mid lengths and ends. The treatment restores the hair’s natural elasticity and shine to give an instant refresh to your tresses. If you really love the messy look, slightly dampen the hair. Then loosely 'braid your hair with your fingers and shake free for added texture', advices Schwarzkopf Ambassador Armin Morbach.
Who: Colour Bomb Icon: Ellie Goulding Product: Bleach Super Cool Colours in Rose, £5 How: We know it’s bright but if you mix 'just a pea-sized blob in with your normal conditioner and wash straight out you get a lovely pastel hue through the ends of your hair', says Morbach. What’s more, getting it out is just as painless as getting it in. Just rinse thoroughly and after 15 washes it’s gone. This one definitely works best for blondes but for the daring brunettes among us – try it without conditioner and go for something ultra bright.
Who: Perfect Pixie Icon: Pixie Geldof Product: Schwarzkopf got2b Glued Spiking Wax, £4.07 How: Warm this wax in the palm of your hands and rub it into the tips of your hair. It adds texture and definition without making your hair greasy. It's super lightweight too, so won’t make your hair sticky. But, make no mistake, this style lasts.
Who: Pretty Plaits Icon: Sienna Miller Product: Redken Control Addict £12.25 How: This is always a festival winner. It looks technical but all you need to do is plait one side and sweep it over the top of the head (like an alice band) and pin it with kirby grips behind your ears. Spray with something like Redken Control Addict to hold and then you can leave it like that for the whole festival weekend.
