Of all the hair and beauty looks on this year's Golden Globes red carpet, this one from Jessica Chastain really stood out. The actress, who took home the night's Best Actress prize for her role in Zero Dark Thirty, took a risk and wore her striking red hair in retro '40s-inspired waves that was quiffed back off her face and pulled it off with aplomb. She further complemented her seafoam Calvin Klein Collection gown with barely-there foundation, a touch of sparkly gold eyeshadow and a flash of dark red lipstick.

Thandie Newton
Thandie Newton, however, kept her hair look simple, effortless and gently tousled, while her make-up was natural and dewy with just a touch of matte colour on the lips.

Nicole Richie
While Nicole Richie's Golden Globes hair was retro and classic, her make-up look was far more fashion-forward. The starlet matched her futuristic eyeshadow to her pastel blue dress. With such statement eyes, the rest of her make-up was natural and nude.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley
With such natural beauty, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley doesn't really need much make-up. Case in point, this Golden Globes look, where she wore barely there make-up and a nude lip, which she teamed with poker straight loose locks, which were lifted back off the face with a slight quiff at the front.

At the other end of the beauty spectrum, Marion Cotillard really stripped things back and wore her hair poker straight and pinned behind her ears. Natural foundation, a pale pink lip and a touch of sparkly green eyeliner completed her beauty notes.

Halle Berry knows what works for her and sticks to it time and time again. And when you look this good, why not? The actress' short hair was given some texture and gently mussed up, while her make-up featured coffee smoky eyes and a pale lip.

Natural make-up and loose tousled waves, Amanda Seyfried sticks to what she does best at the 2013 Globes. Simple but effective.
